A containment level 3 post-mortem examination room within the Veterinary Pathology Centre deals with carcases potentially infected with ACDP Hazard Group (HG) 3 and/or SAPO3 biological agents.
This enables us to work safely with cases where there are significant potential or known infectious disease risks. Work is predominantly diagnostic post-mortem examination activities where the cause of death is unknown or requires further investigation.
