This unique partnership brings together experts in animal diagnostic and research pathology, with specialists who have spent many years working within the forensic sphere of the UK Criminal Justice System.

By harnessing our collective knowledge of forensic and animal science we are able to offer a wide range of forensic pathology and science services to agencies that deal with, or investigate, crimes against animals across the UK and beyond.

Our main aim is to help investigators increase the success rate in the prosecution of individuals who commit crimes against animals, but a significant component of our collaboration is to develop a strong social justice agenda and deliver results which disrupt crime patterns and the evolution of animal to human criminal behaviour.

The forensic centre is located in Oxfordshire, where we work with the ArroGen Forensics team and our pathology centre is based at the University of Surrey. This is where we are building our research, teaching and CPD portfolio.

By combining our strengths in forensic pathology and science, and building on the existing infrastructure and our established track record as human medico-legal practitioners, ArroGen Veterinary Forensics offers a novel animal forensics service.

The team is led by Alexander Stoll BSc VetPath (Hons) BVetMed MVetMed DipFMS MRSB MRSPH FRCPath MRCVS and Jo Millington BSc (Hons) MSc PGCert MIABPA. Alex has experience in developing and providing veterinary forensic pathology services and a passion for teaching and public engagement.  He is one of a handful of veterinary pathologists in the UK with both forensics and pathology qualifications and holds visiting positions at a number of academic institutions.

Jo Millington is an experienced forensic practitioner; having worked as an operational scientist in major and critical incident investigation for over 20 years. Jo is renowned for presenting a robust and balanced overview of forensic scientific evidence to the court and is committed to knowledge transfer. She also maintains a number of collaborative links with academic institutions and holds the honorary position of Visiting Fellow at Bournemouth University.our
